The Sandy Hook-Columbine Cooperative was born out of tragedy. Parents whose children survived these school shootings joined together to find ways to help schools and communities prepare, respond, then recover from a traumatic event. We are committed to making a difference for those whose lives are forever changed by the experience of traumatic loss.
We came together though a shared experience so we could help one another. One night over dinner, we came to the conclusion that we all wanted to turn our loss into gain, and helplessness into helpfulness. We are committed to being a resource for individuals and communities so they can be prepared for a crisis and learn how to recover in the aftermath.
We have joined forces to share our personal experiences and lessons learned on our journey though trauma. We are all in this together.
