Carly Posey, wife to Dave Posey, is one of the founders of A Sandy Hook-Columbine Cooperative. Carly was motivated to help individuals and communities prepare and respond to traumatic events since the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14, 2012 that changed her family forever. Carly’s first grade son was in the first classroom the shooter entered and while he was reloading her son ran out of the school to the fire station nearby while her fourth grade daughter remained hidden in an art room closet at Sandy Hook School. Her two other children were at the intermediate school in lockdown for 5 hours.
Carly and her husband and four children moved to Parker, Colorado on December 15, 2012 where she has advocated for her family’s mental heath. Her passion is to share her personal lessons learned to help individuals and communities be ready for and help with recovery in the aftermath of tragedy worldwide.
She also brings experience in running her own businesses for several years and has been on the board of PTOs and PTAs.
